The Book Life Tag
Well, I'm in a blogging mood - but the problem is, I don't want to invest too much energy on a full blown review. So, until then, I'll play around with a few book tags. If I tag you, I'll let you know and be sure to link me back so I can see your answers, too! And if I didn't take you, but you like the tag, feel free to play along and link me as well.
Note: Those I tag will play the on the "HARD" version of this, meaning you can't choose characters/places from the same book. If you MUST, you can only reference the same book twice. (For example, the character I choose as my mother is from the same world I'd want to live in, ect.)
I'm not at home with my huge library right now, so I can't do the zombie tag - too bad, it sounded like a good one! - but until then, I'll do the Book Life tag. In this tag, I have to choose characters from a book that would make up my family and friends.
Who would be your father?
Hans Hubermann - The Book Thief
I loved everything about Hans in The Book Thief. His honesty, courage, humor and faith. Everything. He's the ideal father, in my opinion. The gentleness with which he cares for Liesel and the patience he had while teaching her how to read really proves that he has a big heart. You can tell he definitely loves his family and if I had Hans as a father, I'd know I'd always have someone to go to with my troubles and someone who truly believes in me.
Who would be your mother?
Molly Weasley - Harry Potter Series
I mean honestly, who didn't want to be a Weasley at some point? And you can bet Molly Weasley would be my choice for a mother. She's loving, kind, and attentive. But she can be vicious and a downright badass when she needs to be. I know she'd always have my back and - if I was ever teased or if anyone ever gave me a problem - she could just Avada Kedavra their ass and I'd be problem free. Plus I'd get all the food I could ever want! Ha!
Who would be your sister?
Jo March - Little Women
So, I couldn't do this tag and not include a character from my favorite classic. Jo was always the March sister that I identified with the most. She's a reader, a writer, and follows her heart. Everything that I long to be! So, of course I'd want such a talented and kindhearted person for a sister. Maybe she could even give me a few pointers on how to write some gut-wrenching poetry.
Who would be your brother?
Alec Lightwood - The Mortal Instruments
Alec is perhaps one of the best literary brothers one could ask for. (For the record, any of the Weasley boys would've done, too, but I'm trying to veer away from using too many characters from a same series.) He's protective to a fault, so I know he'd always have my back - even if I didn't want him to. His snark would be hilarious and the fact that Magnus would likely hang around, too, would be an added plus. ;)
Who/what would be your pet?
Firestar - The Warriors Saga
Can I just say that they need to make an awesome CGI movie of this already, so I can have a proper picture to place here. (OCD, I know.) Plus it would be a kick-ass movie. Anyway, Firestar is the ultimate kitty character. He's brave, fierce, and loyal. He's not exactly a kittypet that would love to live in my house and sit on my lap, but - in an ideal world - my pets would be the top cats in the Warriors clans!
Where would you live?
Ah, the eternal questions: Narnia or Middle Earth. Sorry, but I'll choose the place where there are fewer mountains to climb. Anyway, I fell in love with Narnia as a child and I still remember it fondly today. It was full of magic and wonder and I'd be the first to pack up my bags and step through the wardrobe - as long as I was living there when the Pevensies were ruling. Screw the ice witch.
Where would you go to school?
Hogwarts - Harry Potter Series
I mean, duh. Who wouldn't want to go to Hogwarts if they were given the chance? (And I'm pretty sure all you other people will choose Hogwarts, too, so we can all just be happy together!) I'd definitely be a Ravenclaw, too, with all the smarty pants people and Transfiguration would be the class I look forward to - as well as ace, of course!
What would be your fictional job?
Whatever Harry Dresden does - private investigator, wizard for hire, what have you - I'm down for it. (For the record, Auror and Shadowhunter would've been on here, too, but I'm playing the HARD version.) He's always getting into trouble, and I'd probably end up getting killed early on in my business, but at least I'd have some interesting stories to tell before some ghoul or demon killed me. Haha!
Who would be your best friend?
If I had to drag a best friend into all the trouble I'd get into, I'd probably have to choose Annabeth as my best friend. She's reliable, smart as a whip, and willing to stay by my side during the craziest of circumstances. Not only that, but she'd probably be able to get me out of a scrape or two. In between epic battles against minotaurs, we'd be able to talk boys as well. ;) And, just for the record, I'd totally be a Daughter of Apollo. Whoop, whoop!
Who would be your significant other?
Peeta Mellark - Hunger Games
Let's be honest - there are a ton of book boyfriends to choose from, but my original book boyfriend will always be Peeta. Sweet, thoughtful and loyal Peeta. He'd show his love everyday and he'd be willing to put himself into harm's way in order to protect me - even with his life. That's not a love you can find too easily. While Katniss had a hard time loving him, I certainly didn't. It's definitely "real", Peeta. <333
