Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week we're discussing and listing the "Top Ten" books on our winter to-be-read list! I have waay more than ten that I hope to get to, but I'll narrow it down as best as I can. Again, they're in no particular order! Here we go!
Number 10: Breaking the Rules by Katie McGarry
I swear, this will be one of the books that I get the day it comes out and devour it. While Noah and Echo weren't my favorite couple in the series (that goes to Ryan and Beth) I'm still eager to read more about this. I was a little disappointed with was only an ebook release. I'm not a big fan of reading on my Kindle, though I do on occasion. Maybe it'll come out in book form soon. I'll be posting a review so stay tuned!
Number 9: Embers by Karen Ann Hopkins
I'm a sucker for a good angel book and when I saw that Hopkins was branching out into a more fantasy-esque and darker YA genre, I was very excited. I loved her Temptation series and I'm eager to read this new series when I finally have some time on my hands. If you haven't read her before, definitely check her work out!
Number 8: Battle Angel by Scott Speer
Okay, this book has been out since late August and I was SO stoked for it since, like, last year. I got it the week it came out and it's been sitting, neglected, on my shelf since then. Damn, you real life - always getting in the way! This is another angel book and the thrilling conclusion to the Immortal City series. I've been dying to find out what happens. I'm determined to finish it by the time Christmas comes around!
Number 7: The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare
Magnus was one of my all-time favorite characters in Cassie's shadowhunter world and you have no idea how thrilled I was when I found out all the short stories were being bound into one book. I'm eager to read more about this yummy warlock and his experiences - plus I want a little more Malec. ;D
What Christmas would be complete without a good Christmasy read? I can't wait to get a copy of this book and sit by my pretty Christmas tree with a warm blanket and a cup of tea. I've read books by plenty of the authors before, and I look forward to reading their short stories. As well as discovering new authors' writing styles. I might even pick up some of their books, eventually. Can't wait to read all the fluffiness!
Wow, it's finally here, people. We Mara Dyer fans have been waiting an AGE for the conclusion to this series. If you haven't read this series, and you're a big fan of crazy twists, mystery and action, be sure to pick it up! It's definitely a book with plenty of twists and turns and you never know what to expect next. I NEED the final book, now! And, also, NOAH! :D
I loved Wallbanger and I've been a fan of Alice Clayton since the first chapter of her first book. Her characters are humorous and easy to love. I could definitely see her books made into awesome romantic comedies and, of course, the steamy scenes she writes are hot, too. I mean, this book has a hot librarian in it? What's not to love? It looks like it'll be a short sweet book and I can't wait to get started on it.
I still have yet to read this, despite how good I know it will be. I have a feeling there will be plenty of nice Percabeth scenes and, now that the final book in the series is out, I know I definitely need to read it before I get spoiled by anything. It will definitely be one of the firsts I read after I go on break!
Damn. Just look at that cover! I'm a huge fan of horror movies and this spooky read is right up my alley. It comes from a debut authors, so I'm definitely hoping that it will prove interesting. Thanks to friends in high places, I was able to get an ARC of this and I'll be sure to let you guys know if it's good!
Poor Harry Dresden. He probably thinks I've given up on him. I read the first two books in the Dresden Files a while back and I instantly fell in love with Harry and his fascinating world. With memorable characters and curious mysteries, it's a series that's easy to love and I can't wait to delve back into it!
And that's my list! It's only a few of the ones I'd like to read, though. Here's hoping I get to all of them! Or at least a portion!
