Top Ten - Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2015

Tuesday, December 2, 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week we're supposed to list the top ten books we're looking forward to in 2015. It was hard
narrowing it down to just ten, but I did my best. (Also, I usually love putting the pictures of books in my posts, but half of the ones I'm looking forward to don't even have a cover yet, and since I'm OCD, I'm not going to post any.) If you're interested in the book, just click on the title to learn more! Here we go!

Lauren Oliver is one of my all-time favorite YA authors and anything by her is automatically in the TBR pile. While I tend to like her fantasy-esque genre better, I still love and devour her realistic fiction, too. I can't wait!

Honestly, I was a little sad about this release, since it meant that I would have to wait EVEN LONGER before I got to read Winter, but I admit that it's grown on me. At the very least, perhaps we can understand Levana a little better. And, hey, it's a Lunar Chronicles novel. I can't NOT read it.

I loved Hodge's poetic prose in Cruel Beauty and this companion novel will definitely be in possession come May. I love fairy tale retellings and, with this one focusing on a retelling of Little Red, you can bet I'll be up all night reading it!

I'm a HUGE fan of Bardugo's Grisha trilogy and when I heard that she was writing a companion novel, I about flipped. I can't wait to read more about this fascinating world!

Okay, I may not have posted it, but can we just talk about that AWESOME cover? Anyway, this is another one that falls under the "fairy tale retellings" genre that is just a have-to read. And the fact that it's Sarah J. Maas just makes it even better.

Yeah, I probably don't have the right to post this, considering I've only read two in the series, but I hope to be at that point in the series when it finally releases.

I'm eager to read the next bit in this cute, summery drama written by Morgan Matson (Katie Finn is a pen name). Especially since the previous book left off an on a really annoying cliffhanger!

Well, supposedly it's going to be released at the very end of next year. And I put it on the list just in case because, well, JOHN GREEN!

While Fairest will be a nice way to tide me over, I'm still looking forward to Winter the most! She's such an interesting character and I've very eager to learn more about her and see how Levana is finally defeated!

Yeah, I don't even need to explain this one - especially since we're ALL looking forward to it! Can September 2015 just get here already? I need my Emma and Julian fix RIGHT NOW!

And those are the ten books I'm looking forward to the most, though there are a TON of others I could've listed. Which are you looking forward to the most? Let me know in the comments!

  2. Aww so many amazing book are on your list! I can't wait for Vanishing Girl even though it's rating isn't the best by far I'm really looking forward to it. I felt the same way about Fairest, I'd swap it any day for Winter haha. I've yet to read Cruel Beauty but Crimson Bound sounds wonderful too! :))

    1. Yeah, I was a little bummed that the ratings were pretty low, but hey - you never know till you read it. And I'd definitely swap Fairest for Winter in a heartbeat. ;)

    1. Yus! I'm super stoked, too!

I actually got an ARC of Shutter, so I'll be starting it here in a couple of weeks. And while I haven't read The Murder Complex yet, it's definitely on my list!

  5. I still need to pick up Cinder *goes and hides in a shameful corner* but I want to do it soon! Everybody is featuring both Crimson Bound and A Court of Thorns and Roses and even though I haven't read a thing from both authors I have to admit I'm also looking forward to those LOL It's just me or both retellings and fantasy books are going strong in 2015? I'm not complaining though hahahaha

    1. Tisk, Tisk. *Shakes head disapprovingly* Lol, I won't judge you for not having read it yet. But you definitely need to make time for it soon! I'd love to see your review, too.
And you haven't read Throne of Glass? It seems like everyone is talking about that series, but I've only read the first in the series. >.<
And, yes, they definitely seem to be gaining momentum! But I'm not complaining, as long as they don't get repetitive.

  6. I've heard so much wonderfulness about Sarah J Maas, but haven't gotten around to reading her stuff yet! Court of Thorns and Roses seems so cool - and the cover is utterly beautiful.

...And Cassandra Clare is ANOTHER author who I've heard a ton about but never read. Gosh, I need to step up my game! :-)

    1. I've actually only read Throne of Glass by her, but I hope to get to the rest of the series over the winter break. Here's hoping, anyway, lol. And you DEFINITELY need to read Cassandra Clare at some point - such awesomeness!

  7. Yay for Winter! That would be my #1 choice for sure. I'm still sore that it got pushed back until next November. >.< The wait is going to be dreadful. Also looking forward to Court of Thorns and Roses, John Green's next, and Crimson Bound. Lovely choices!

  10. YES TO ALMOST ALL OF THESE! The only ones I'm not excited for is Peace Talks (since I have not read the series) and the Katie Flinn (because I have not read the first book, though I really want to because I LOVE MORGAN MATSON! But, sadly, my library does not carry it).
Anyway, great picks! 2015 should be a great year! XD

    1. Aww, you definitely need to request it if your library is lame and won't carry it. =( But they're definitely good, so give them a try if you ever get the chance!

  11. I still have yet to read a book by John Green yet. I have no idea what I'm waiting for.. I've heard so many good things about his writing style! My finals end next week, and I have a few weeks off for winter break. I'm totally going to have to make a TBR list and stick to it! I always end up reading random books which aren't the ones I meant to read! haha I'm sure you know how it is when you TBR pile has hundreds of books! This is a great list girl.. 2015 looks to be a wonderful year for book nerds (:

    1. Haha, sounds like a good winter break plan! I have the same problem, I try to make a list, but I usually just end up reading what I'm most excited about. Best of luck with the reading. At any rate, as long as you're reading it's progress. ;)

  12. I am so excited for Vanishing Girl. Lauren Oliver is such a brilliant writer :D
I absolutely love the cover of Fairest. It's creepy but I love it. So far, I've only read Cinder but I hope to read the rest of the series before Winter comes out :)
And of course Lady Midnight. I think almost every reader out there is anticipating this book. Haha :D

    1. Yes, I love Lauren, as much as I can HATE her endings, lol.
And, yes, Fairest definitely looks creepy, but that's what makes it awesome, too! I'm hoping it will be a good means to tie me over until Winter comes out.
And, yes, everyone is awaiting the awesomeness that will be Lady Midnight! =D
